Anti-Snoring Sprays and Pills
There are a lot of products in this category as well so I’ve done my best to include the most common ones that you may find. Many of these products claim to keep you from snoring period but that is far from the truth.
However, it is important to keep in mind that these products can and do work in the right situation. It just depends on what the cause of your snoring is. If you need a short term fix for a minor snoring problem then a pill or spray might be right up your alley.
Natural Sprays
Let’s start with anti-snoring sprays. Most sprays that claim they can keep you from snoring are all natural. That is a definite plus. The big problem with them is that they tend to focus on clearing the sinuses. There isn’t anything wrong with that but if you have a snoring problem chances are that your sinuses are not causing it.
Your sinuses can cause short lived snoring problems but the chances of having a long term snoring problem caused by your sinuses are pretty slim. The same goes for snoring caused by allergies. That may be why you’re snoring, but it shouldn’t stick around forever. These natural sprays can also help if you have a cold, mucus, or sinus issues.
Natural Pills
There are also some natural pills that claim they can help to reduce snoring. Although some are reported to be safe and effective I’ve never tried one that was. That is probably because they try to tackle the same problem that sprays do.
These natural pills, at least all of the ones that I’ve come across, have some sort of special blend of herbs and enzymes in them. This blend of natural ingredients is supposed to reduce the amount of mucus that your body produces. Again, this is alright but probably won’t keep you from snoring completely.
Depending on your specific situation they may not do anything at all. There is a good time to use this kind of product to reduce your snoring though, so they aren’t completely useless.
When to Use Them
If you are snoring because you have a cold, allergies, or sinus problems this may be a good way for you to go. If any of those three things is causing you to snore then most of the typical anti-snoring options won’t do much for you. Some of them can even make it harder for you to breathe. If your snoring problem is being caused by mucus you could see good results with a pill or spray as well.
I really wish that there was a magic pill or spray that did work for everyone like so many products claim. If that is even possible, which I doubt, it doesn’t exist yet. Nothing beats convenience.
To sum things up some natural sprays and pills do help with snoring. The main problem is the kind of snoring that they treat. People with consistent long term snoring habits often find that the cause of the snoring is not related to a sinus problem or allergies.
