This device is a quality jaw retaining mouthpiece. It does work for those that snore because of their jaw. It has some features that help to make it better than competing products. Those will be covered here as well as the minor weaknesses of this solution.

Why It’s Better

There are a few things that make this product better than a lot of its competitors. It’s always nice to see multiple strengths in one product. Since that is the case I would like to start with the adjustment of this device. This really jumped out at me because the way you adjust it is very slick. Some other products offer a similar feature but this one allows you to micro-adjust how it positions your jaw.

It actually has a built in measurement unit so that you can keep track of exactly how far you move it. This may not sound like much but it really is critical. What this means for you is that you can keep adjusting things and tweaking them until the device works perfectly for you. Different people need their jaw moved forward different distances. This feature really makes the product work for a lot more people than something without any adjustment.

Although it may take a few nights to get the micro-adjustment right, there is another nice feature that comes into play when you find your ideal setting. One thing this product has that others don’t is a locking system. This locking system was designed to keep the mouthpiece exactly where you need it once you have adjusted it to your liking. This way the setting of the device will not change during sleep or when you aren’t using it. The locking feature is a really great complement to the micro-adjustment.

Reduced Risks

As you may know from my other articles, jaw retaining mouthpieces come with a variety of risks. Most of them are quite unpleasant such as jaw pain, facial pain, bite alignment issues, and potential jaw problems like TMJ. These risks keep a lot of people from using them. However, the creators of SnoreRx knew about these risks and made it a point to eliminate them to the best of their ability.

On that note, I am pleased to say that they were successful. At the time of this writing no adverse side effects like those mentioned have been reported by users of this device. Honestly I never thought I would see such a safe mouthpiece of this kind. The designers really did a fantastic job in this area. I would also like to mention that this product’s design meets newly raised standards put forth by Medicare.

How Comfortable Is It?

For the kind of mouthpiece it is, it’s very comfortable. No solution like this is as comfortable as the tongue retaining kind but that’s beside the point. If you want a device to correct your jaw then this is one of the safest and most comfortable products out there.

Like some other popular units this one has a heat and bite fitting process. Just drop it in some hot water, take it out, wait a bit, put it in, and bite. It’s as simple as that. This is much better than the process for a custom device which can take a great deal of time in the dentist’s office as well as a nice big bill at the end.

This unit is made of a nice comfortable thermoplastic which gives it the ability to conform to the shape of your teeth in the fitting process and to be worn comfortably once fitted. Comfort can’t be stressed enough when choosing a snoring solution.

As with most solutions, you should expect some slight discomfort the first few times you sleep with it. The discomfort should be mostly in your teeth and mouth although minor jaw pain is possible due to the nature of this device. That’s a big improvement from earlier solutions like this that caused serious jaw problems.

Clinical Research

This solution is good to go in the research department. The device itself has not been studied but the entire design is based on effective principles. There is plenty of data available about this kind of product and the designers definitely made use of it when coming up with this snoring solution. Not only did they make use of the clinical data, but they made improvements everywhere they could.

A Peek At The Company

SnoreRx is made by Apnea Sciences Corporation. The product also happens to be made in the USA. This company is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau but they have been given an F rating. The fact that they are not accredited isn’t a bad thing; it just means that they haven’t applied for it. The F rating is more important and this is not a good sign.

Conclusion

I prefer another product but I do have to say that SnoreRx is a high quality snoring solution. It’s based on sound research that has been proven multiple times. The way that this mouthpiece adjusts is one of the best things about it and that is extremely important.

The design is a huge improvement over other products like it and risks that would normally be an issue have been reduced as much as possible. This bold claim holds up with the lack of negative reviews and bad experiences. If you are convinced that your jaw is your reason for snoring then give this solution a try. The odds are in your favor with this one.
